Both in work and my personal life I tend to gravitate to things that are built from scratch. From digital content to carpentry, textiles, or dinner—if something is lovingly and painstakingly made, I want to be a part of it. Turn on a good sporting event, a pretentious art film, or send me to the garage with a project to tinker with and I’m content.
What work of art makes you feel all the things?
Oh man. “The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place” by Explosions in the Sky first came to mind. It still makes my heart flutter after many years. It’s this contemplative, lyric-free piece of music that’s almost... meditative? Put it on one of these nights and slip into a bath or something, trust me.
